Demolition of KU Volleyball Building Expected to Begin Next Week; Construction of Bigger Facility to Soon Follow – Lawrence Journal World

The new Horejsi Family Athletics Center will house The University of Kansas volleyball team, improve the player and visitor experience, and provide a direct connection to historic Allen Fieldhouse. A two-story entry lobby with 30-foot glazing will create views throughout the arena.

Gould Evans Announces Completion of Earth, Energy and Environment Center at the University of Kansas 

Kansas City, MO, April 24, 2018 – Nationally recognized design and planning firm Gould Evans, together with the University of Kansas, Cannon Design and Turner Construction, is pleased to announce the completion of the Earth, Energy and Environment Center (EEEC), comprised of two new buildings, Ritchie and Slawson Halls. A dedication ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on April 25, 2018 to celebrate the grand opening of the facility, which will position the University at the forefront of efforts to address challenges in areas related to energy, natural resources and the environment.

Giant Fossils at KU’s New Geology Building Recall Time When Kansas was Underwater – Lawrence Journal World

"Eighty million years ago, giant marine monsters called mosasaurs ruled the land now known as Kansas. The Cretaceous-period reptiles are long gone these days. . .but the mosasaur lives on at The University of Kansas."

Mosasaur and Sea Turtle Installation in KU’s New Earth, Energy and Environment Center

Yesterday we watched the installation of an 82 million year old Mosasaur fossil, which is 45 feet long, and an 84 million year old in the new Earth, Energy and Environment Center at The University of Kansas​! Those walking KU's campus can catch a clear view of the Mosasaur chasing the sea turtle. Great work to Turner Construction - Kansas City​, Triebold Paleontology, Inc.​ and University of Kansas Department of Geology​!

Gould Evans Announces Completion of New DeBruce Center at the University of Kansas

Facility provides a permanent home for The Original 13 Rules of Basketball

Kansas City, MO, Lawrence, KS – May 13,, 2016 – Nationally-recognized architecture and planning firm Gould Evans, together with the University of Kansas, is pleased to announce the completion of the DeBruce Center, located on the University’s campus in Lawrence, Kansas. The 32,000-square-foot building is a multi-dimensional experience of the university’s rich basketball history, and a permanent home for the historical two-page document on which, in 1891, James Naismith outlined “The Original 13 Rules of Basket Ball.”
