Gould Evans Principals Melissa Farling and Krista Shepherd Speak at EDRA Conference

Gould Evans Principals Melissa Farling and Krista Shepherd spoke today at the Environmental Design Research Association’s 50th Annual Conference in Brooklyn, New York. This year’s theme is “Sustainable Urban Environments”.

Melissa presented on “Correctional Environments – Harm or Heal?", and Krista is presented on “Planning for Development Without Displacement through Equitable Transit-Oriented Development”.

Gould Evans Associate Principal Emily Harrold Speaks on KC Design Week Panel

Gould Evans Associate Principal Emily Harrold recently spoke on a panel that tried to address issues facing women designers during this year’s Kansas City Design Week. Emily was joined by four other talented women who have risen to the top – Cady Beansmith with Barkley, Erika Moody with Helix Architecture + Design, Megan Stephens with Willoughby Design, and Julie Vinh with Hallmark.

Congratulations to Gould Evans Principal Melissa Farling on being named a Design Icon - for Architecture - in Sources for Design's Issue 16!

Issue 16’s editorial focus is  “Designing Women” and it offers a timely reminder of the influence of women on the design process and built environment. Melissa is one of seven extraordinary women being recognized for leading the community in amazing and unique ways.

Gould Evans Associate Principal Graham Smith to Speak at APA Spring Symposium

Attending the Kansas Chapter of the American Planning Association Spring Symposium this week? Gould Evans Associate Principal Graham Smith will be speaking with Mary Hunt – Principal Planner with the Wichita-Sedgwick County Metropolitan Area Planning Department – on Friday.

The two will present “Wichita: Places for People” – a study of a 3-mile radius of the downtown core that addresses developing vacant or underutilized land in existing developed areas neighborhoods. Don’t miss it!

December 13, 2018 – Gould Evans is thrilled to announce five Associate Principal promotions across our studios. The selection of our future leaders is the most important action we take to influence the quality and direction of our firm’s future.  To this end, Kelly Dreyer, Emily Harrold, Aaron Herring, Brandon Kent and Graham Smith have been named as Associate Principals. They join our six current Associate Principals at this level of leadership within our firm.

Gould Evans Principal Doug Thornley was recently voted in as a new member of the Board of Directors of Good Samaritan Family Resource Center in San Francisco!

This is the second time Doug has been a board member for the Center whose mission is to help vulnerable families, including immigrant families, access needed services, develop self-sufficiency, and participate fully as members of the San Francisco community.
